About Us

What is The Pierce Progressive?

The Pierce Progressive is published by Pierce Progressives Online.  We are an independent group of volunteers who live in Pierce County, Washington and take pride in our home and its progressive history.  Our mission is to explore issues that are important to our county and present progressive ideas as constructive alternatives for improving our communities.

Our slogan  – Read, Learn, Connect, Act  – guides our editorial policy.  We provide background, ongoing reports, and opinion pieces for topics of political importance to our cities and our rural communities.  We invite readers to connect with other progressives and encourage them to turn their informed opinion into positive action.  Features such as event notices and entertainment add further motivations for readers to visit our site.  While our core group does most of the reporting, writing, and editing, we invite submissions from you, our readers.
