A city of 9000, Sumner, Washington, is located at the confluence of the White River and the Puyallup River.  It grew based on its fine agricultural lands.  Its farmland has supplied berries, vegetables, rhubarb, and hops.  Modern Sumner also hosts warehouses and industry.  It is a crucible in the contest between preserving our farmland and business development. It is served by a local on-line news source, the BonneyLake-SumnerPatch.
